A new article in VSCNews features a potentially very destructive grape pest, the grape root borer. This pest practices extreme social distancing by spending nearly two years of its life underground. Unfortunately that makes the grape root borer a tricky pest to tackle, but this article discusses some information that can help monitor and manage these secluded pests.
Check it out here: http://vscnews.com/grape-root-borers-uga-vines/ We are excited to welcome Amos Kaldor to the Peach Entomology Lab. He is joining us all the way from Wisconsin. Amos will be focusing on the impact of conventional vs. low spray management on natural enemies and pollinators in GA peach orchards. Starting your MS research in the middle of a global pandemic may not sound the best timing, but he is ready to hit the ground running. It is going to be an exciting rest of the season!
